Section 01
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the AppLock Vault mobile application ("App"), published on the Google Play Store. By using the App, you enter into a binding agreement with the developer ("we", "us", "our").
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Section 02
App Description & Intended Use
AppLock Vault is a personal security application that provides:
- App locking with PIN, pattern, password, biometric, and face unlock
- A private encrypted file vault for photos, videos, audio, documents, and notes
- Intruder selfie detection on failed unlock attempts
- Guest mode for temporary, restricted device access
- Panic / stealth mode with optional SOS messaging to trusted contacts
- Security profiles with time-based and Wi-Fi-based auto-switching
- On-device security intelligence and anomaly detection
AppLock Vault is intended for personal, lawful use only to protect your own device and data.
Section 03
License to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use AppLock Vault on your Android device solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not:

Section 04
Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to use AppLock Vault to:
- Lock or restrict access on a device you do not own or have permission to control
- Monitor, spy on, or surveil another person without their knowledge and consent
- Capture photos of individuals without their consent using the intruder selfie feature
- Send SOS messages to contacts without their prior consent to receive such messages
- Engage in any activity that violates local, national, or international laws
- Attempt to bypass, hack, or compromise the security mechanisms of the App
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the App or servers
Section 05
Permissions & System Access
AppLock Vault requires certain Android permissions to function. By granting these permissions, you authorise the App to access the relevant device capabilities solely for the stated purposes. You may revoke permissions at any time through Android Settings, though doing so may disable certain features.
The App uses Android Usage Access (a special permission granted via Settings, not a normal runtime permission). This allows the App to detect which app is currently open. This information is processed locally and is not transmitted externally.
Section 06
User Data & Privacy
Your use of AppLock Vault is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review the Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your PIN, pattern, password, and Rescue Key security answer. We cannot recover your credentials if you forget them and have not set up a Rescue Key.
Section 07
Advertising (Google AdMob)
AppLock Vault may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Ads may be displayed within the App interface
- Google AdMob may use your Advertising ID and device data to serve relevant ads
- You can opt out of personalised advertising via Android Settings → Google → Ads
- Ad content is controlled by Google and may vary based on your profile and region
- We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements
Section 08
Analytics & Crash Reporting (Firebase)
We use Google Firebase for anonymous crash reporting and usage analytics. This helps us improve stability and user experience. Firebase collects anonymised technical data such as device model, OS version, and crash logs. It does not access your vault content, locked app list, or credentials.
By using AppLock Vault, you consent to this anonymised data collection. For more information, see Firebase Privacy & Security.
Section 09
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- The App will prevent all unauthorised access to your device
- The App will be compatible with all Android devices or OS versions
- Data stored in the vault will never be lost due to device failure
We strongly recommend maintaining regular backups of important files outside the App.

- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities
- Damages resulting from unauthorised access to your device or files

- Damages caused by third-party apps, malware, or Android OS changes
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $10, whichever is greater.
Section 11
Third-Party Services
AppLock Vault integrates with the following third-party services. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms:
We are not responsible for the actions, content, or practices of any third-party service.
Section 12

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
